What a Deal!

Hey everyone!
So we are doing great with our numbers and officially have 63 people signed up and pumped for our trip to Cancun, Mexico!!! SO exciting!

We are starting to formulate a "party package" that people can purchase if they so choose. This party package is not yet finalized but will most likely have 5 nights at the hottest bars on the Cancun Strip and one or two fantastic off-resort excursions (Mayan Ruins, Catamaran, Eco Park etc). The excursions alone would cost upwards of $70 per person were you to want to do one without the package deal.

Below is a little bit of info about each club... notice the prices! Our party package will cost $200, everything mentioned above included.

Basic Discotheque

Basic Discotheque is an amazing nightclub built out over the Nichupte Lagoon (directly on the other side of the main Cancun strip and within a two minute walk from the Gran Caribe Real). The club features a unique design and often hosts wet t-shirt contests, bikini contests, foam and water parties. Cover and open bar is regularly $35-40 USD. http://www.basicancun.com/main.html

The City Nightclub

The City Night Club in Cancun Mexico is one of the most popular nightlife hotspots. Opening at 10:30pm each night, the club features a capacity of 5,000 people with nine bars and VIP sections. Cover with open bar is regularly $45 USD. http://www.thecitycancun.com/

CocoBongo Nightclub

CocoBongo Nightclub boasts a club experience you’ll never forget. With a capacity of 3,000 people, live entertainment and extravagant acrobatic shows, this place is amazing. The establishment allows people to dance everywhere, literally: on bars, tables, and even on stage with performers. Cover with open bar is regularly $45 USD. http://www.cocobongo.com.mx/

Dady’O Nightclub

Dady’O Nightclub is open 7 days a week and has a huge dance floor with multiple platforms and six bars. The club is a popular spot for celebrities and MTV show hosting. They only serve the most recognized brands of alcohol including Smirnoff Vodka, Cuervo Tequila, JB whisky and Bacardi Rum; open bar and cover is regularly $40 USD. http://www.dadyo.com/

Want to know the people you're booking with?

Want to know a bit about your co-organizers?

Lindsay Joseph - 4th year Theatre Studies Student
Lindsay is a travel enthusiast. With a myriad of travel experience to multiple foreign countries, Lindsay Joseph is the one you want to be traveling with. An approachable, friendly individual with good organization skills, Lindsay will direct you and answer any questions you need. When it comes down to the day of travel itself, Lindsay is the girl to look out for. She will be making sure everyone gets where they need to be, because no one knows the air travel scene better than someone who has independently traveled to Botswana, Mexico, Honduras, the Dominican Republic (an S-Trip vacation), South Africa, Europe, Malaysia and Thailand.

Darren Ogden - 4th year Biology Honour's Student
Darren is pumped about our grad trip to Cancun. With recent group travel experience to Varadero, Cuba, Darren knows the deal when it comes to organizing a wicked trip. He is an extremely organized person who can get information for you whenever you need it, whether it be regarding the trip, the travel agency or the destination itself. He's an excellent promoter and does his research before choosing a destination to travel to. Darren chose the Gran Caribe Real Resort package carefully for Acadia's trip to Cancun in May 2010, knowing the value of the package is superior.

Nikki Pichette - 4th year Psychology Honour's Student
Nikki has a good deal of travel experience, particularly with S-Trip!, the travel agency we have booked with. Nikki organized her grade twelve graduation trip to the Gran Caribe Real Resort in Cancun in 2006 with S-Trip! 47 people attended the trip and it was a huge success. In 2007, Nikki traveled again with S-Trip! to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, as Destination Staff. Traveling with a group of 100 grade twelve grad-trippers from London and Toronto, Ontario, Nikki was able to keep the group organized and having a blast on their grad trip. With lots of grad trip experience working closely with S-Trip!, Nikki can vouch for the fact that the resort and agency we are booking with are legitimate and awesome options. Nikki has also traveled twice to Varadero, Cuba, and Orlando, Florida, but keeps a special place in her heart for Cancun.

I've Booked! Have You?

Hello Again Grads!

So here's the deal. People are starting to book and this means our fabulous grad trip is already in full swing of organization! With this cold weather rolling in, just keep thinking about that 5 star resort, white sand beach, 8 bars, 8 restaurants and 8 days of paradise and I have no doubt it will brighten your day!

A couple notes:

  • Remember, right now (as in before this Sunday) if you take advantage of this deal all you need to pay is $200. This saves your spot on the trip AND ensures that you have the special price WHENEVER you decide to complete your payment (which means anytime before March 3rd)
  • I would strongly recommend getting the full health coverage. I've done a lot of traveling and the policy that they offer through this company (RBC Travel Insurance) is the best in the world - like actually, the best. I usually get this insurance when I travel. I got sick in the Dominican Republic a few years ago (I was on IV and in hospital in Peurto Plata for 4 days) and if I hadn't had this insurance I would have been paying $4300+ in medical fees. There's a 99% chance you won't need it but I can tell you when that 1% shit storm hits you, you'll be thankful you paid the $77 for the insurance.
  • Tell your friends!!! Get excited and get booking! If you've got boyfriends/girlfriends that don't go to Acadia, that's ok! Invite them along, they will most definitely have a blast and who doesn't like a little lovin' in a hot country?!
  • If you have ANY questions at all feel free to contact Lindsay Joseph, Nikki Pichette, Darren Ogden or Ben Lefort - we're trying our best to keep you up to date with everything.
Get pumped! Less than 6 months until we board that plane and land in sunny Cancun!
